Cardiology

I am a board-certified interventional cardiologist on the GMC specialist register (ID 4735678). I have a passion for all aspects of cardiovascular medicine with a particular interest in coronary and structural heart disease intervention. I have demonstrated experience in clinical trial design, execution and governance, scientific writing, retrospective and prospective large dataset analysis, medical education and training, mentorship and academic supervision. I am a co-founder and lead editor of the Challenging Concepts series of medical and surgical textbooks published by Oxford University Press. I am also Lead Editor for the Interventional Cardiology Training Manual published by SpringerNature in 2018, chapters of which have since been downloaded over 32000 times. Altogether I have written and edited three medical textbooks, published in the Lancet, the BMJ, and other high impact specialist cardiovascular intervention journals. I am a regular peer reviewer for the Lancet, BMJ, Circulation, JACC and the European Heart Journal family of publications. I have also been an Associate Editor for Heart (BMJ Journals). My extensive management and leadership skillset has been honed by over 20 years of working in the NHS and as a former member of the British Cardiac Society Education Committee, the Research and Development Committee of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, and current Course Director for the BCS.
